Natural fertility regulation

Our philosophy is that of promoting wellness for women. We strive to offer the BEST and SAFEST care possible. Consistent with this we are especially interested in educating women on their fertility. Fertility Awareness is a natural and, depending on the method, scientific approach to women’s health. It empowers women to know and track their menstrual cycle and the biological clues of fertility.

In 2017, the New England Journal of Medicine published a large study that found that ALL forms of hormonal contraception increase the risk of cancer. The birth control pill is categorized as a “Group One Carcinogen” and is also linked to heart attacks, strokes, and blood clots. We believe that having knowledge about your body and taking charge of it, is truly being in control! This includes a method of tracking fertility without the use of artificial contraception, hormones, or permanent sterilization. Our goal, regardless of the method you choose, is for you to understand the signs and symptoms your body produces to gain a better understanding of your reproductive and gynecological health. Learning to observe and interpret these signs is the key. Once these signs are recognized, you can confidently manage your fertility according to your needs.

Creighton Model

The Creighton Model is a mucus based model which uses a standardized observation and charting of biological markers (cervical mucus) that are essential to a woman’s health and fertility. These “biomarkers” tell the couple when they are naturally fertile and infertile, allowing the couple to use the system either to achieve or to avoid pregnancy.

  • This system also works closely with NaPro technology to be able to identify and treat women’s health issues such as infertility, PCOS, irregular bleeding, repeated miscarriage, and postpartum depression.

  • The Creighton model is charted via a paper chart, which is available at our offices.

  • The course begins with an introductory session-“a trailer” to the course’s content and goals.

  • Follow up sessions are taught every two weeks for the first two months then monthly after that point until you are feeling confident in the method.

The Marquette Model

The Marquette Model uses the technology of a ClearBlue Easy Fertility Monitor, a device used at home which measures hormone levels in urine to estimate the beginning and end of the time of fertility in a woman’s menstrual cycle.

  • The information from the monitor can be used in conjunction with observations of cervical mucus, basal body temperature, or other biological indicators of fertility.

  • This system is taught in two main sessions. The initial session will go through all of the basics of how NFP works and how to begin charting, while the second session goes deeper into some of the special circumstances that you might encounter as you continue charting.

  • Additional chart review and follow up is available as needed to make sure you feel confident using this method.

We are also well versed on other fertility awareness methods including the Billings Ovulation Method, Standard Days Method, Two Day Method and Sympto-Thermal methods and tracked through many common apps.
